Emissions

With approximately 568.000 tons, i.e. 78% of the entire emissions, stone and brown coal mining produce most of the CH4-emissions. 15% come from refuse dumps, 4% are caused by production and distribution of natural gas, and about 3% by waste water purification. Less than 1 % come from composting and surface water. However, with 1.700 tons per year, i.e. approximately 60%, these are the most important producers of N20-emissions. The NMVOC emissions are mainly caused by the use of products containing solvents in private households. Cleaning and care products as well as cosmetic articles are particularly dominant here.
